24 June 2009 - Up and Down
A day with its ups and down.
- After fitting the new steering shaft, we test the car on the road. 1st stop PICC, Putrajaya.
- Edmund and me were given the opportunity to test the car.
- Edmund manage to reach 90km/h (top speed)
- I was given the chance to dive the car back to UNITEN
- Some difficulties occurs which cause the car to be unstable.
- Nevertheless I manage to drive the car back to base.
After arriving in uniten, we test the car again on uniten's road.
That's when the accident happens.
During braking at COIT hum, one of the car tyre parts fail. This causes the car to touch the ground and slightly damage the car bottom.
With the help of MRC members we manage to pull the car back to our lab.
19 June 2009 - Putrajaya Test Drive
Today we are going to Putrajaya to test your solar car on the road.
It's our first time testing it outside UNITEN.
With the trip plate lent TNB, we are allowed to test our car on the open road.
The car is running with battery power only. (solar cell haven't arrive yet)
With the battery capacity of 40A/h, we should be able to drive the car for 2 hours depending on the load(how the drive drive/push the car).
The test started at 3.30pm due to some delays that cant be avoided.
Today Edmund and Yaw are driving the car. Also present are Dr Amir, En Ismail, En Halil, Hadi, En Shahrul, Miss Nabilah.
We were escorted by 2 uniten's van (very new van).
